Brief History of Sac MA

Several Marijauna Addiction 12 Step Groups met in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1989 and formed Marijuana Anonymous. In 2004 the first local MA meeting startd at UC Davis - moving off campus the next year to the Unitarian Church of Davis. By 2006 the Davis meeting migrated to Sacramento at Kaiser near Cal Expo ( since then there have been no MA meetings in Davis). Partly because Kaiser changed the meeting room with little notice, the next location was the United Central Methodist Church (UCMC) at 53rd and H St. where another meeting had already started. In 2008 these meetings fromed the Keep Off The Grass Group. Also in 2008, two separate meetings began at the Church of the Nazarene on Arden Way on Tues and Thurs and are now joined as the Beyond Your Wildest Dreams group. Additional meetings on Saturday and Sunday have recently started up as well.
